A hot pocket is a great invention for a quick snack. It’s easy to prepare and easy to fold. Hot pockets can be cooked in the microwave or oven. Both options are acceptable.
In the microwave you will do this much faster, but in the oven the dough will become crispy and golden brown, so hot pockets like this are usually much tastier. Although they will take a bit longer to cook.
Step 1: Preheat the Oven
If you have a regular oven, then hot pockets can safely wait for their turn in the freezer, it will easily defrost and cook them when it warms up.
If you have a convection oven, it is best to defrost the pockets first. Preheat oven to 350 degrees and place your fast food in there.
Step 2: Bake the Hot Pocket
Unpack the hot pocket and read the directions carefully. It should indicate how long you will need. Place the hot pocket on a baking sheet. You can pre-place the foil there if you are afraid that the food may burn.
For a quarter pound Hot Pocket, you need to bake for about 24 minutes in a Conventional oven, while for a half-pound, the baking time would be approximately 34 minutes.
For a quarter pound Hot Pocket, you need to bake for about 12 minutes in a Convection oven, while for a half-pound, the baking time is around 15 minutes.

In general, you can track the cooking process without resorting to the instructions on the package. Just poke through one hot pocket and make sure the dough and filling are sufficiently cooked.
Step 3: Cool and Eat
Remove the hot pockets from the hob and let cool slightly. Remember that you may not burn yourself with the dough, but with the filling, because the inside of the pocket cools much more slowly.
To avoid this, you can cut open the pocket, then the filling will cool down in a couple of minutes.
How long to cook hot pocket? – Tips
If you like to cook in a crispy sleeve, you can use it, although this is not the essential part of the recipe.
You can also cook a hot pocket in the microwave, then it will take about 2 minutes on high setting. And yes, it’s better to cook one pocket at a time, it will come out much faster.
